An industrial RO plant purifies water through a multi-stage process that begins with pre-treatment to remove large particles, chlorine, and other impurities. The pre treated water is then pressurized and forced through a semi-premeable membrane in the core RO system, which blocks dissolved salts, minerals, and contaminants to produce purified water (premeate) and a reject stream. The final stage is post treatment, which may include UV sterilization or remineralization, followed by storage in a tank.

Free Shipping

Decor Outdoor offers free regular shipping on all orders shipped to residential or commercial addresses within the contiguous United States. Orders are delivered Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

Drop Shipping

We are an online-only luxury furniture and lighting boutique, and do not have a warehouse. Consequently, all orders are drop shipped directly from our manufacturers to your door. If your order includes items from more than one manufacturer, you will receive multiple deliveries. Because we are dependent on the on-hand inventory of our manufacturing partners, some items listed on our site may not actually be available right away. Please call us at 888.784.4644 or via our contact form with any stocking questions and we'll get in touch with the appropriate manufacturer for answers, before you place your order.

Ground Shipping

Small parcel items ship regular ground via delivery services such as FedEx, UPS or DHL. Orders typically take 2-3 business days to process and in-stock items will usually be delivered 3-5 days from the date that they ship (depending on origin and destination). If there is a delay, you will be notified by email. No signature is required for standard ground shipping, so you may want to make arrangements to have packages brought inside soon after delivery, if you are unable to receive it in person.

We speak a lot about the importance of gut health—not only for beauty—but also in terms of our overall health, wellbeing and immunity. But before we can fully understand why the gut is so integral to our health, it’s first essential to learn more about the physiology of the gut itself—and how it works.

Pre-Treatment

Pre-treatment prepares raw water for the RO membrane by removing physical, chemical, and hardness-related impurities.

  1. Clarification & Sand Filtration : Removes large suspended solids, silt, and turbidity.
  2. Activated Carbon Filtration : Eliminates chlorine, organic compounds, taste, color, and odor. Protects RO membranes from chlorine damage.
  3. Chemical Dosing : Antiscalants are added to prevent scaling on RO membranes. pH may be adjusted to optimize membrane performance.
  4. Water Softening : Reduces hardness by removing calcium and magnesium. Prevents mineral buildup and membrane fouling.
  5. Cartridge Filtration : Final filtration step (typically 1–5 micron). Removes fine particles before water enters the RO system.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane System

This is the core purification stage.

  1. High-Pressure Pump : Pressurizes pre-treated water above natural osmotic pressure.
  2. RO Membranes : Semi-permeable membranes allow only water molecules to pass.Block dissolved salts, minerals, bacteria, viruses, and contaminants.
  3. Permeate: Purified water.
  4. Reject: Concentrated water containing removed impurities.

Post-Treatment

Post-treatment ensures water safety and suitability for final use.

  1. UV Sterilization : Kills any remaining bacteria or microorganisms.
  2. Mineralization (Optional) : Essential minerals may be added back depending on application.
  3. Storage : Treated water is stored in a tank for distribution or use.
